We went to Heidelberg today via the train from Frankfurt. We went with Elder and Sister Wenz from Orem, Utah. They work in the mission office, but started out in Military Relations. In Heidelberg we with met up with another couple: Elder and Sister Speyer from Austin, Texas. They are serving there as YSA leaders. Firstly, we first had our first schnitzel and German potato salad. Oh my goodness, that was good. We then walked to the Karl Theodor bridge and then up to see our first of many castles here in Germany. The Heidelberg Castle was built in the 16th century and later bombed by the French in the 17th century. What a hike! It was 300 steps of cobble stones on a slow incline. We decided on the non-stair route going up and the stairs going down. I came to the conclusion stairs in any direction is NOT a good idea. 🤪 However, the hike was worth the amazing view of the city. It was a spectacular day.
Cool! You get to operate big machinery! 😲
